What is DERT?
Dert is a social enterprise that sells specially designed books to raise money for literacy programs. DERT is founded by two brothers: an Olympia book curator, Ernesto Chavez, and a Brooklyn graphic designer, Marcos Chavez.
This organisation works with Parsons School of Design to redesign classic baby books. The Idea of DERT is that children can learn how to read and begin to build literacy skills at an early stage.
DERT also collaborates with Parent-Child Home Program (PCHP) to ensure that every child has the opportunity to enter school ready to succeed. PCHP’s nationwide network of program sites provide families with the necessary skills to help children achieve their greatest potential in school and in life.




Milk and Where it Comes From

This book aims to be a fun yet simple book that will teach toddlers where and how fresh milk is produced. Readers will follow OouYoo, also known as Milk throughout an exciting journey. OouYoo will introduce Kaw, the friendly cow and OouYoo’s other plant-based milk friends. This book also hopes to teach children about food sourcing and how every food, drink and animal is precious
